The 153-room, 10-story AC Hotel is Roxbury’s addition to the city’s vibrant Brush Park neighborhood. It brings the global brand’s signature purposeful design and amenities to Detroit, and as the first AC Hotel in southeast Michigan. Located at Woodward Avenue and Eliot Street, the property is situated at the gateway to Downtown, walking distance of major destinations such as Little Caesars Arena, Orchestra Hall, Wayne State University’s Mike Ilitch School of Business and the Detroit Medical Center. The $50 million project incorporates the restoration of the historic Bonstelle Playhouse to its original 1903 Albert Kahn-designed exterior and 1922 interior redesign by noted theater architect C. Howard Crane. The restored Playhouse now accommodates live performances, as well as civic, corporate and private events, and is connected to the hotel via the hotel’s Conservatory Bar.
